Blaze King Princess Hearth Pad Size

Hey folks!
New to the world of wood burning stoves and picked up a BK Princess today. I want to build my own hearth pad but want to make sure of the size. On BK's site it says this: http://www.blazeking.com/dealerarea/hearthpad/PE1006 hearth pad.pdf
I'd like to keep it minimal to save space (I plan on moving both stove and hearth pad in the summer to the garage) but still have it safe.

Hey @anydaynow.. I have a new to me king that was just put in and I build the hearth real simple.. plywood on the bottom, then cement board on top, then tiles on top.. I had extra tiles, luckily as a couple were broken with placement of stove.. 4x3 if the size of the hearth if I remember..
PS, I kept it floating in the event it ever had to be moved..
