Block-off plate ?

Hi All,

I'm gathering materials, placing orders, etc. and considering installing a new insert myself in a few weeks. I definitely will fabricate and install a sheet-metal block-off plate. My question is do the pros on here recommend also insulating w a proper rated insulation above the block-off and behind/around insert?

Im not a pro but for your location I'd just put a layer of roxal on top and not fuss with trying to insualte the fire box area of the fireplace.
