Blower install for PE Alderlea with O.A.K.???

This summer we had our PE Alderlea T5 installed and have really loved it. I recently decided to add the blower. However, the blower does not fit due to the ducting. Can anyone think of a way to squeeze the ducting around the blower? How much can I flatten the ducting without adversely affecting the flow? I'm open to any ideas. I'll swing by the stove shop that did the install next week, too.

Dunno. I guess I'll try. I don't think so, at least without trimming back the pipe coming through the wall.

IMHO, flattening the flex will not restrict flow needed for the stove.

Maybe make your own offset box out of off the shelf components like an electronics project box plus two 3" start collars?

Thanks. Is it adjustable for the height? That would be perfect. I picked up the $17 offset from Lowes today. I think I can make it work and still have $58 in my pocket. $300 + tax for the blower was rough enough already.

The deed is done. I may put some aluminum tape on the joints for a better seal when not in use. Oddly, l sill needed to flatten the flexible ducting and a little of the offset to get it under the blower. Not great engineering there.

Thanks for cluing me into this product. It only took a couple of minutes, a Dremel and snips to modify it to my particular space requirements. The rest of the job was kind of a pain in the backside.

So, after I finally got the blower installed, I am very pleased. $350 was awful pricey to ad to an already pricey stove. However, objectively, the blower has evened out the stove top temp. Before the blower, there could be up to 200*F differential on the stove top, e.g. 650 in the front vs. 850 around the flue collar. Now, the STT is much more uniform, usually less than 100*F total, e.g. 650*F front vs. 700-725*F around the flue collar. MORE IMPORTANTLY, the wife noticed that the temperature in the main living room is more stable. She doesn't get blown out on high and is more comfortable on low. This makes me very please with my investment into the blower and install.

Big thanks to Tom for posting the PE OAK adapter picture. When I saw this thread I was like ... "Hey I have a picture of that!" Too late. ha ha. The adapter is really nice, its beefy thick steel, the paint matches the stove and I think it visually looks better than having an elbow coming out of the bottom of the ash pan.

I finally have my OAK mostly completed. I will try to get some pictures of it posted soon.
