Boiler water - and heater hoses?

I'm in the process of planning a FPHX install. It would help a lot if I could use a couple of those off the shelf DHW heater hoses - you know, the braided ones that you screw onto your hot water tank fittings? Are those OK to use with closed system boiler water? Do they have oxygen barrier properties?

After some googling & more thought - I don't think I'll try the hoses. Not sure they'd be up to the higher temps of boiler water for extended periods, for one thing. Still curious about the oxygen barrier part though. Guess I'll have to break down & buy a stick of copper, the pieces I have left over aren't enough.

Those look good - would like to find something on a shelf here though. I'll look deeper next time I'm out - have a feeling I'll likely end up soldering.

Can you get a short length of O2 barrier pex from a local store or HVAC contractor and just attach the fittings?

If you have water treatment on the boiler side I would be concerned with chemical compatibility between treatment and the hose, and I doubt there is an O2 barrier.

I've had a length of radiator hose connecting to my expansion tank for 7 years. Can't say it is the right thing to do, but it was what I did.
