Attached is a photo of my Regency I2400 insert. I did three break in fires last week. I am very happy with the way it burns as it really throws the heat. A ceiling fan has been added to the room also. One annoying problem was noted however.. Shortly after lighting the fire with kindling and small logs, say ten minutes or so, as I closed down on the dampner, about half way, the stove produced an annoying air vibration noise. When I opened the damper a little beyond half, the noise disappeared. As the unit warmed up and regular sized logs were loaded, I could close the damper to half without any problems.. Is this normal? Thanks again for all the information on this site.....Jim

May be normal. I have not had that. But my insert pings, ticks, etc.
You hearth needs to be extended though. That hearth rug is not going to protect as much as you think.
Looks beautiful btw. Congrats & welcome.

I have a new quadrafire 3100 insert and have had 7-8 fires in it, one time during the secondary burn I heard the noise you describe but Icouldnt do anything to make it stop. The noise stopped after about 10 minutes and it only happened the one time. My stove also ticks and pings as well.

beautiful stove and set up.......I have the same stove and I'm waiting for inspection before firing it up. If I hear the same sorts of things...I'll post back. I just stare at that thing now...it's beautiful even with no fire and 3 ornamental birch logs sitting in it!
