Im building a hearth for my Quad 4300, and I have read alot of posts lately about building them. I have a question. The manual for the Qaud doesnt give an R value for the floor protection. It gives a K value .84 I think it was. It is a Quadra Fire 4300 Millenium and its on the pedastal instead of the legs. My plan is this.
2x4 frame, then a layer of 7/16 or 3/4 inch OSB, then a layer of 1/2 durock/cement board, slate tile, then where the stove goes we where going to make 2 brick thick pedestal to stand on. Does that sound right or do i need another layer of durock?

Thanks
