Hi all - long time lurker (reader), first time poster here. My CAB50 is no "spring chicken" - manufacture date of 2012, I inherited it with the house when purchased in 2022. It was poorly maintained (if maintained at all...). The combustion exhaust blower quit on me this morning, mid-burn, with a horrid noise that had me peeling through the house and down the stairs to ensure my house wasn't about to go up in flames. Turns out one of the blades on the combustion exhaust detached, causing all the noise. Motor being original to the stove and the set screw for the blades likely won't budge without destruction. The other fan blades don't look great and show signs of metal fatigue; two were bent but I suspect that was caused by impacting the blade that had fallen/snapped off.

My question: Which combustion exhaust blower will fit/is correct? I'd prefer to order the correct one the first time. I don't have the original manual, but the one I'd found online states SRV7000-881 as the part number, noting 70cfm. The part number on the motor I removed from the stove is SRV7000-602 - which looks more like the entire combustion exhaust assembly/housing/shroud kit when researched online. I'm also seeing part numbers 812-3381 and 812-4400, with varying rpm ratings and either 70 or 80cfm. I've tried calling a few places and they haven't been able to provide support beyond offering to check with their parts vendors and call me back next week. Unfortunately there are very few local shops that offer pellet stove parts, most of which are special order and far more expensive than online variants.

The housing/shroud that the blower fits into/bolts onto is fine with only a slight bit of surface oxidization on one gasket mating surface; so I'd rather not replace it. I plan to give it a good cleaning before a new blower is installed anyway, along with a new gasket.

This stove has been fantastic at heating the basement and warming the flooring on the main floor so it's not cold underfoot. I've replaced the thermocouple and ceramic cover, glass gasket, door gasket, burn pot gasket, and combustion blower gasket before the 2024 heating season which noticeably improved efficiency and reduced sooting of the glass. Burn pot (clinkers) are emptied every 12-24h of runtime, firebox vacuumed weekly with deeper vacuuming bi-weekly (baffles removed, exhaust channel vacuumed etc). Summer 2025 the stove was disconnected and hauled outside for a good cleaning and fresh coat of paint on all surfaces, including painting the pellet venting and wall thimble black. New porcelain tile hearth built and stove reinstalled, as the basement is being finished. At the end of this heating season, I plan to give the firebox a quick mist of WD-40 or similar, to keep the rust down. I'll be capping off the exterior as well to mitigate any damp/humid air from entering the stove and accelerating corrosion.

Exhaust blower help aside, I'll take any free advice or tips from the seasoned crowd. Would also like to hear from fellow CAB50 owners about their experiences, issues or modifications. FWIW, I also run my stove with an ecobee thermostat quite successfully!

Cheers and happy Saturday.

If you contact these people directly they should be able to tell you the cfm rating and if it's compatible with the original motor.
