He may end up with less than a year for paying off two judges to incarcerate thousands.....

Not to say I'm skilled in the law, but that seems like a slap on the hand - for someone who paid for misery and injustice.

I ain't no communist, but for-profit has limits. Kids died because of these people.

There is something to be said for the civil world being separate from the financial one....

As far as the judges sentence, I would think they'd take life if it was agreed not to put them in with the general population!

Judges should be serving the total amount of time they erroneously sentenced young offenders ... time sentenced that was out of the "normal" range for offenses. Have they recovered the bribe money or seized assets of the judges?

I actually work with a guy who was one of those "offenders" in his teens. Nothing worse than a dirty judge.

It wasn't just the kids for cash. As president judge, Ciaverella was in a position to eliminate the budget for the county-owned detention center while at the same time approving a bloated lease for the for-profit detention center. Squashing audits, threatening whistle blowers, transferring people who asked too many questions, and denying council to people in a courtroom were common practice for him. Makes me sick.
