Hi all...Just picked up a Serenity and have a few questions from those that have more experience with them? First, I've noticed that when the stove starts to run on higher fan settings, more sparks are coming out the exhaust pipe outside. Based on what I've read, I would assume the first place to make an adjustment is to close the air damper some and see if the sparks diminish? I would guess too much air might be causing this? Lots of sparks as the pellets land in the hopper. I am running a good proven pellet so I'm ruling that out.

Secondly, I have purchased an APC 750 backup battery and was wondering if the power goes out, does this stove automatically go into a shutdown mode like the Harman or will it keep running?

And lastly, does this have a temp sensor located in the back of the stove somewhere that can be extended from behind the panel to a higher point on the wall? Not sure if behind the rear panel of stove there's one there rolled up already or not?

Thanks for any suggestions

I have never seen a spark come out of my exhaust pipe outside...I know my damper is not open more than 30 percentish. Its normal for me to see lots of sparks come out of the burnpot as the new pellets come down...so I don't think that is an issue.

As for the stove going off, yes, it shuts off with any loss of power.

Can't answer the temp sensor question

If your getting sparks outside then you got to much air, try closing the airgate a little at a time until the sparks stop but you keep a nice flame.Pretty sure the stove will just keep running on a battery backup but you would need to call Ardisam to confirm that.Yes there is a temp sensor on the rear it's mounted in the little bracket that sticks out the back.

Before you change the combustion gate, I would program the console to reduce the exhaust voltage. The manual is ok at explaining this, but if you need help, I'll try to step by step it.
If you do not have any vertical piping outside, you will have to be more careful with settings.

You can remove the left (as you are facing the stove) side panel with 4 screws and see the entire working cavity behind the fire box. I have not found and sensors rolled up. But the left panel will also have to be removed to adjust the combustion gate.
