Just wanted to share something I’ve been using for a while now that I finally decided to make available to everyone. I originally built this for myself because I was trying to figure out a clean way to add Wi-Fi to my pellet stove so I could turn it on before leaving work, set on/off temperatures, and check the stove’s status without being home. One thing that always bugged me with both Castle Serenity and Comfortbilt stoves is that there’s no built-in Wi-Fi or app.
I know you can use a smart thermostat, but that setup ends up being multiple components and still doesn’t give full control of the stove (burn level, mode changes, timers, etc.). I really wanted one device and one app that talk directly to the stove.

Since Comfortbilt had plans for Wi-Fi, I knew it wouldn’t be too hard to build my own solution. I personally have a Castle Serenity, and even though Wi-Fi was never advertised for it, I found that both stoves use the same control head unit—which made this possible.

I’ve been running this setup for a while, and after friends and family kept asking if they could get one for their stoves too, I decided to turn it into a dedicated module with a proper app and make it available more broadly.

With This Module you can
  • Turn the stove on or off from your phone
  • Set temperatures so the house is warm when you get home
  • Adjust burn level (1–5 in Manual mode)
  • Switch operating modes (Manual, Temperature, Thermostat, Weekly)
  • Set on/off timers (1–24 hours)
  • Use temperature rules (off when it gets X° above setpoint, back on when it drops X° below)
  • Check stove status and errors at a glance
  • Switch between °F and °C
It is super simple to install as it just plugs into the back of the Head Unit

You can see more details at the url below

I love the wifi and app on my master forge, it looks pretty close to yours, can't help but wonder if the control panel would work for yours as well?

add Wi-Fi to my pellet stove
Could you add a WIFI interface to other data busses?
I guess Honeywell had some sort of data bus (maybe Modbus?) called "EnviraZone"

It depends on the stove, and how they communicate. The module I made is specifically for the Comfortbilt and Castle Serenity.

No, it's a HVAC control bus by Honeywell. I'm not sure why the OP has it, Honeywell HVAC is usually involved in big buildings.

Thought I would share some more screenshots of the app, and a new product being released soon to pair with the Wi-Fi Module is an Aux temp sensor that can placed anywhere in your house and display the Temp and Humidity in the app!

Looks good. I don't have that stove though. Request: make a WIFI interface for the Harman standard control card. There is a DDI slot in front.
