Catalytic Combuster looks like it has come loose from frame (picture)

I am getting my chimney and stove ready for the winter. This Combuster has been through two seasons, maybe 3-3.5 full cords burned in total. Mostly Ash and some maple seasoned for at least a year.

Inspecting the combustor, the bottom edge still looks flush with the retainer, but it is about 3/8" back from the top edge and left side.

It otherwise looks fine but it looks like it has come loose from its frame. Has anyone else experienced this?

I am going to call my dealer tomorrow to see if they will warranty this. If not, were you able to request a ceramic oem catalyst or did you go with aftermarket like Midwest hearth?

Found several threads with the same issue. Let's see how the warranty process goes. I am probably going to buy a Midwest Hearth catalyst because I will need to start burning sometime in November. Will try ceramic this time.

Hey all, so Dec last year got a replacement catalyst because it was pulling from the frame. Lo and behold it’s happening again! What is going on, did I get two poorly produced catalyst? If so, then I got one in a box cause I picked up a spare.

Ashford 25 insert

I’m burning good dry wood, maybe a cord into this year. I’m following directions when reloading wood and not shocking it. Catalyst is metal. I’m at a lost and very disappointed.

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I started a thread on 9/16 regarding the same issue (gap between catalyst and metal frame). BK replaced my catalyst under warranty.

New member here with a question for the experts! Picked up a new gasket this morning and went to install it. I noticed this gap between the combustor and the metal frame/housing. This can't be normal I imagine? It's only two years old, am I looking at needing a new combustor?
