Question:

Does a catalytic stove give a different smell than a non catalytic stove......When using a catalytic stove is the wood smell lost and replaced by the smell of the catalytic converter? I have hear that the non catalytic stoves are the only ones that retain a wood smell..thanks for you opinion

Answer:

I have not noticed a different smell, though I suppose if you analyzed it the output would be different. The catalytic converter does not create a smell by itself.

Don't worry, your cat stove will still have the ambiance (and odor) of a wood stove.
