Has anyone done this yet? Old glue looks to be some sort of caulking cement. Looks impossible to remove Can you glue a new casket over it? Any help sure appreciated.

Just got my serenity, so havent changed the gasget yet. Apprars like most others. The gasket cement does harden over time. Rip off the old gasket, clean the surface with a razor scraper, and glue on the new gasket.

I changed my gasket this past weekend, i took the door off and laid it flat, removed the old gasket and removed at the old red gasket glue/sealant with a sharp edged chisel and then wire brushed the channel, I used an off the shelf 5/8 gasket purchased at home depot and used the silicon adhesive provided with that. It works fine however Ive since noticed that the gasket should be 3/4" so am thinking of ordering the correct gasket and re doing it.

Thanks for the reply. Just saw it. My computer is messed up, that's why. Yep, 3/4" is what artisan told me. Also, High Heat Silicon Sea!ant. Ordered the Gasket And Sealant From Amazon. How Does The Door Come Off? Thanks For The Help.
PS Aritsan said, chip out the old red silicon sealant best you can, then put a new bead of silicon in with the 3/4 inch rope gasket, don't stretch it and try to bunch of up on the corners, close the door and let it cure for 24 hours with no heat.

I called Artisan last week and ordered a replacement gasket, came in the mail three days later, was $4.95 plus shipping! its good because its the original one, dark gray in color and has the ends taped up instead of open frayed. Im gonna replace it this coming weekend, again

Theres a small socket cap screw at the bottom left of the door, i had to use vice grips to unscrew it due to there not being enough room to get the wrench in there. Its not in tight and once removed the door drops downwards from the locating pin at the top left. You have to swing the door backwards and forward while pulling down a little to get it off the pin but its not hard, replacement is the reverse.
