Chimney Brush

Hi, In the past, I've used a flat wire brush to clean my clay flue liner as it always did a real good job. I now have a rigid ss liner and am wondering if the flat wire brush will be too abrasive on the new liner because I would like to use the flat wire brush on the black steel pipe also.
