Chimney Cap Bugs

Curious if anyone has an answer to this. Been getting random bugs in my house and was curious if this could be a possible route through the chimney pipe buffer.
Is this part of the pipe worth screening?

Can they get out at the bottom? I don't know where you are..I see greenery, so maybe American Balmy Caribbean? But around here the stink bugs were really bad this year. If they are smaller bugs, the spiders need to eat too ya know.

Stink bugs certainly enter from a chimney.
