Chimney cleaning whip replacement: same as string trimmer??

I just ordered a replacement whip for my Gardus Chimney Liner Cleaning system. It's $6 + $6 shipping for a measely 8pack of plastic strings (https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/p...oteater-chimney-liner-cleaning-system-rbwl-09)

And just this afternoon I'm looking at the string trimmer/weed wacker in my garage and the huge spool of replacement string i have for that (https://www.homedepot.com/p/ECHO-080-Cross-Fire-Trimmer-Line-350-ft-Large-Clam-311080070/203185178)

Is it the same material? or is there something special about the whip replacement?
