The home I bought was built in the early 70's. It has a chimney that was installed without the proper clearances between walls. I plan to remedy the problem before I use my new stove again. Question is.... The chimney is a Hart & Cooley, Model D, Cat #8DP30, UL Listed 145A. I understand that HT is what is needed for wood stove's. Is it possible that this is indeed a Class-A chimney that would be suited for my wood stove. Maybe before the term HT came to life? It is stamped 2" minimun clearance. But I do not see HT anywhere on the pipe. Can it be a generic class-A that would be safe? I don't want to go through the work of making the proper clearance if I am going to have to replace the vent anyhow.

Currently wood stvoes need a HT Class A style chimney which must be listed to UL 103HT
