Wow, that brings back memories. I heated our house with one of those for a few years back in the late 80s. I loved that little stove.
 
I remember those. When I did research on stoves back in the 80s I had a notebook 2" thick with stove companies and their stuff. I remember the Kent.

Yes you could pick the color of your stove and it made the sides reasonably safe to touch. It just used 8x8 ceramic or stone tiles and these made a radiant/convection shell around the steel firebox. Our friends used to have one. One year they had red ceramic tiles and then they put it in their family room and used granite tiles.
