Buying or drooling? Cool tool

Pretty cool. Its actually a Disston. They formed a partnership with Mercury Kierkhaufer Marine starting in the early-mid 1940's to originally produce chain saws for the US Army & Marines to help clear jungle/build roads in the South Pacific islands during WW II.

Its either one of these models, both are twin cylinder behemoths.11 & 12 horsepower,97 pounds without bar & chain.....!!! If I owned it,I sure wouldn't use it for "logging" like the ad says...way too rare & hard to find parts for it if something needs replaced.Restore it to proper running condition, fire it up once in a while when certain family/friends stop by.

One of my friends was just telling me about them and that he wants one. He is into outboards.

I'v got one of those, but i didn't get the bar and chain.Or the oilier which is on the far end of the bar.
They are a twin cylinder. They were designed for the army near the end of WW2,the war ended so most didn't get delivered. They painted the rest orange and sold them to the public. With the bar they weigh 95 LBS
A guy i know came across it when he was scrapping,he tried to sell it but had no offers.I traded a few hundred rounds of 303 ammo for it.
