Climbed up on the roof today to clean the chimney. First cleaning. Barely anything came out... Question is that the chimney brush seemed to fit pretty loose in the pipe. Past post I've read mentioned a pretty tight fit. Not at all the case here. Probably could have dropped the brush and almost a free fall would have happened. Normal?

If it is cleaning and doing a decent job, no worries.
Can always try a different brush.
The main objective is get it clean. Brushes will usually flop around in there enough to do the job.
You can also try spinning the brush while pumping it up and down. Make sure you spin the right way, and not loosen it off the rod and let it drop.
