I have always cleaned my chimney, but I knocked down my old mason chimney last year, and now have a metal chimney pipe with an all new stove. Looking into getting a Vevor cleaning kit for it.

My question is with these pipes is it better to go from the top down or from the bottom up. My old chimney had a door on the outside making it very easy to clean with a metal brush. I know I can't use that on the metal pipe. Does everyone clean their cap? I never had to do that either with my old chimney.

Soot eater (like weed whacker line, plastic) bottom up, I've not had cap issues with that yet.
