New stove and piping

Im looking for some advice. Took out an old zero clearance fireplace and air cooled chimney and Im installing a new hearth mounted stove with a through the wall system and up into and existing chase. The new class a chimney will share the chase with my oil boiler (separate pipes obviously). I was all set with the rockvent but i have concerns about the exhaust gas from the boiler withthe 440 rock vent outer stainless they are about 3’ apart. Am i over thinking this or should i be looking for a 304 outer? I think shasta vent ans selkirk are the only ones. I like the rockvent better but looking for advice for someone that knows a little more about this.. i am i. Orange county ny if clate is a concern

I don't see an issue, assuming that the each flue goes to the top of the chase.

Will the new stove installation be in the cavity left by the ZC removal? If so, that is considered an alcove installation. Double-check the stove's requirements for this specific type of installation if this is the case.

No i have room to put it in front with a 6” clearance. The chimney pipes from canada are expensive with the tariffs and the rockvent is made in mi and is 2k cheaper than duratech they say rockvent is the same as ventis made by copperfield

Thought id share some pictures 3/4” clearance to combustables at the flu offset.. glad i didnt try to stick an insert and a liner through there (which was allowe but i think its not anymore)

Looking for some more advice i decided to go with the ventis pipe as i looked at the thimble the flange looks like it will only provide 1 5/8 clearance to combustables looking to see if anyone else has used this system and noticed the same measurements it is the same on the attic insulation shield and the the firestop radiation shield. I would assume if the flange is 1” the tape in the circle for the first picture should have been at 3” not 2 5/8. Is this how they are all made and thats just the system?

It would be best to show us a sketch that illustrates what the installation plan is in order to be sure guidance is correct.

The first picture the tape is on the inner circle of the thimble where the pipe will rest it shows 2 5/8 to the edge of the thimble the second shows the outside edge of the flange to the edge of the thimble 1” thick … that leave 1. 5/8 from the edge of that flange to where the pipe will sit

If using Rockvent, then use the matching, insulated thimble for this chimney pipe. To maintain the required clearances.

Use the through the wall chimney pipe kit when passing through a wall in your installation. Everything you need except for the Rock-Vent chimney pipe.

If possible, avoid the 90º elbow in the stove pipe and soften the turn with a pair of 45s.

The 90 is just at the cleanout T. Is there another way that would incorporate a pair of 45's. I already have the T

also here is the response from the supplier when i asked about the clearances. Which i find odd because why wouldn't they make their equipment to match the stickers all over it that say a two inch clearance must be met

The thimble is correct. The thimble firestops and attic shields technically get closer than the minimum clearance. However, they have been tested to the measurements in the installation instructions and is UL listed to those specs. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

What i'm finding interesting about the Rock Vent is they told me on the phone it was Ventis pipe. It all came labeled as Ventis 316 L Pipe. The Rock Vent pipe seems to just sit on top of each section and uses 3 sheet metal screws to hold it together. Ventis website specifically says all of their pipes are twist lock. I am a little disappointed and liked the idea of the twist lock, and not putting holes into the pipe with screws. They are listed as compatible pipes. Has anyone ever used rock vent before and can confirm? Any issues with the screws versus the twist lock. I cant see how it could be cost effective to manufacture and label the pipe as ventis and just eliminate a twist lock
