Hi, I posted a few weeks back about converting a lined oil furnace vent to wood stove. I since had it inspected, and was told it was in great shape and suitable for a wood stove.
I’m trying to connect 6” Selkirk double wall stove pipe to the below thimble. It looks like the liner snout is 6” and connected to a 7” single wall adapter (furnace pipe size).
I identified a Selkirk DSP6MA Masonry adapter to make the thimble / connect the snout to the double wall stove pipe.
Some questions:
1. My plan is to leave the 7” liner in place and just cut the Protruding screws off so the adapter slides in, does that sound right?
2. How does the DSP adapter get secured? From Sellkirks documents it sounds like it just slides in.
3. The about looks crimped, does that cause any issues with my plan?
