Cleaning The Glass

I love my my new Harman Accentra 52i insert. But I'm embarrassed to admit I was pouring pellets into the hopper when the plastic bag touched the glass and melted some plastic onto the glass. I'm afraid to scrape or use an abrasive, but water, vinegar and rubbing don't remove the smeared residue. Does anyone have any ideas how I might remove it? (I've since gotten a hod, which makes life so much better.)

While its hot you can use a heavy corse fiber like canvas to soak as much as possible. Then remove the door and use a single bladed scraper when cold to get any leftovers. Use stove top cleaner(calcium carbonate) to polish off any remaining residue. I use a mouse sander with buffer pad with the stove polish.

This is not glass as such, but more of a ceramic.

With the stove COLD squirt the glass with Fantastic and scrub the crap off with SOS pad.

I use SOS after spraying with fantastic, then wipe off the grunge with a paper towel.

Done this for years on many stoves.

(I've since gotten a hod, which makes life so much better.)

I did the same thing and gently ran a razor blade over the glass and finished with Simple Green and it came out just fine.
