newbie alert!

Okay, so far, I am liking my new 55-shp10. I clean it probly more often
than I need to, but I don't mind. I have also been playing around with
the various settings.
I'm using LG Granules for fuel (softwood).

Now.... every now and then I get these clinkers.
They are usually about the size of a marble. I get a couple a day.

I have read here, that if you have unburned pellets, you need to jack the air up.
I have NO unburned pellets.

So here is the real question....
Are these clinkers, pretty much just one of those deals,
that you get with pellet stoves, and don't worry about them,
or is there a way of getting rid of them?
Like I said, I don't have any that I would consider 'big'..
And I don't "hate" then, I just don't completely understand them ;?

Thanks, Dan

Can be the pellets. If you ever try corn you will get to know what clinkers are.

There really is not any way you can get rid of clinkers. But I have had some that filled the bottom of my burn pot. From what I can tell. They are caused by dirt particles. Which melt into glass balls when subject to high heat. I'v even found some that would attract a magnet. That's because the company that was makeing the pellets is a recycleing company. They grined up wood pallets and never pull the nails out. If you can do some research on pellets your interested in buying.

A couple drops a day the size of a marble? You already got the answer, "don't worry about them".

On the other hand, do they form in the same spot? Have you tried a different bag of pellets?

try a few bags of other stuff to figre out if its the pellets or not.

Thank you all for the replies.. it's nice when you are new to something
to hear/learn from experience.

As for trying different brands, I'm pretty much locked into LG's.
I will try their Maximum (hardwood)
and their "Super Premiums", when I use up these Granules.
