Heading out to set up the new table and get software up and running. Will be nice to have precision cutting abilities in the shop. Excitement in the shop with a new tool/toy!

Nice. My dad has one at his shop. Plasmas are awesome. Handhelds are great for building a pole barn. Cutouts for outlets are a breeze.
Hour big of a table? And pics, or it didn't happen.

The table can take a 4'x8' sheet. with the 220 plasma cutter can cut 3/4 inch. Got the table set up Saturday before I went to work. My brother has been cutting with it. going over to his shop today to see progress.

here are the pics. My brother and his son are going to have much time together getting this thing humming!

NICE! How hard is it to operate for a severely computer stupid guy (me)?

Well im more of the tech end for my brother. It was pretty much a plug and play set up.
As you get more detailed with designs the G code takes a bit of programming but easy enough.

Plasma table update:
successful ACAD Drawing drafted and converted to .DXF imported and converted to G code.
1/4 inch plate 4'x4' 15 pieces 5"x20" with 10 holes 1/2"Dia. successfully cut 5 more pieces to cut tomorrow and on to the next piece.
40 pieces total in this order.
Hopefully will be sent to powder coating by Friday.
next hurdle is nesting multiple pieces to conserve material and increase productivity.

difficult to cut timber frame pieces when all I can vision is boiler designs on the plasma table-LOL

G code, lol. You might as well be speaking chinese. Pics or it didn't happen:)

here are a couple of pics. as you can see a little waste between pieces. nesting will save the waste and have only one lead in had about 1/8" to 1/4" lead in cut so edge of piece was preserved. Yet another challenge for the brain.

Yes, it is a different language. The whole process is strong in computer literacy, but easier to understand now in a windows environment.

whats a setup like that gonna cost me?

This set up is not to bad on the pocket book, but I think your shipping maybe expensive to Alaska.

My son would love this... I would ask for an invite if I thought you were around the corner!

I not sure where Honyock is but I am In NH. This Plasma cutter is set up in NY. How old is your son? I can see if I can locate a table you can visit in NH. Encouragement to the trades for kids is critical to our future-IMHO

My son is in No Jersey and I am located in the Manchester area. My son is a mech engineer (RPI grad) and works in manufacturing (bio reactors currently.) and has experience with CNC and code. He loves this stuff.

He is probably not far from the Plasma Table in Westchester NY

Lots of schools have these machines, especially trade colleges. I have a CNC router in my high school shop. They are cool toys. Kids love them. Foamit Up

Just looked it up, 1.45 hrs. My daughter is probably closer in Astoria looking at the map...she is a junior architect in mid-town, across from Macy's.
