Just curious which other folks get going first! For me it's the fire!

...on a sunday morning here in pa, 28 degrees outside, my wife and i get a little something going first even BEFORE the fire ;-)

Get the pot going, get the fire going, then fill mug, great start to the day...

I definitely start the fire first but I am back and forth between the two until the fire is burning hot and the coffee is flowing.

Set the coffee maker up on a timer at night - wake up to the smell off coffee, get the fire going, drink the coffee

Set the coffee pot up the night before and walk past it and hit the button on the way to the stove.

I am extremely disappointing to see that nobody has posted saying they require the fire to be going to make the morning coffee!

It has to be Sunday morning and 28 degrees?
It's going to be another bye week.
Maybe move to Alaska, or into a freezer?

Fire first. Hate to hear the boiler kick on in the morning.

Fire, Coffee, Paper, Back to front of the fire...

Open the damper to give the remaining coals a goose.

Grind beans, make coffee.

Toss in some kindling. And a couple of splits.

Feed cats, mine litter box.

Personal ablution, pour coffee, prepare my breakfast (and lunch on "School days"), damper down the stove. Think about what to do for the rest of the day, or get moving toward work.

I'll have to ask my wife!

Depends. I use an induction stovetop and french press so it will boil over if I leave it. Since the wife needs to get going I usually get her coffee (decaf) start the fire, then get my coffee(hi-test)

Flip the power on the espresso machine to warm it up and then start/restart the fire.

Both at the same time. I do the fire and the wife does the coffee.

Depends how cold the house is in the morning, but generally, this time of year, the coffee first on the way to the stove. Sometimes, the dogs want to go out first, so.......... to avoid any potential problems, they come first. Kinda like having perpetual children.
In the dead of winter, the fire takes precedence. We're not there yet. Soon though, very soon.

I'm on my second cup of coffee and I still haven't had to touch my fire. The cat has been active since 10:30 last night and my stove top is right at 300 still- just right for the 34 degrees outside. I'm guessing I'll throw a few logs in sometime just before lunch. All that on three nice sized, well seasoned red oak logs and a round of pine.

Yeah, that's right, BK owner rubbing it in...

That's funny, second cup here too. No fire though. Had a good one last night before bed, and let it go out in the middle of the night. House was 65 this morning @ 7:30, with outside temp around 45. Yesterday morning, it was about 20. Not sure if I should put the longies on or wear shorts. Supposed to be a nice day, so the stove will stay cold.
I'll make up for the lack of fire by splitting up the cord of oak I have bucked. Life is good.
