and so with this in mind, the oil guzzler will be on most of the evening and overnight and most of tomorrow to keep my pipes in the cellar from freezing up, I have one set of pipes that don't like getting cold in the far corner away from the oil guzzler. Got to keep the temp down there above 40F in that far corner.

Did a stove service today along with the oil furnace, so I am all set for tonight.

Temps here in Maine are going to be in the negative numbers, -11F or lower ;ex ;sick_g:eek::rolleyes::mad:

If this cold snap continues, I am going to need to buy another ton of pellets for the rest of the season.

Roll on spring is all I can say right now.

I hope that oil continues to drop, I'm waiting for K2 to fall to $1.90 or less a gallon so I can put 100 or so gallons in the tank, that should last me 2 - 3 years give or take 6 months.

Oil locally is $2.29 a gallon as of this morning, so another 30 - 40 cent's drop would be ideal. BTW, K2 oil was $3.89 here 6 - 8 months ago !

So, stay warm girls and guys, see you the other side of this cold snap.

Oil broke 50 a barrel yesterday so it seems like sub 2.00 a gallon is a very real possibility.

Enjoy these low energy prices while we have them because I am sure they wont stay around too long!

Forecast for tonight here is -18F (-29C)

Forecast high here today -4 but the sun is out. The nights low -17 or so. Probably went through close to 90 lbs of fuel in the last 24 in the house.

tonight here -20F
with wind -42F

12* here now and sunny with a -4 or -5* low tonight without wind chill factored in. Every time I look they change it a bit. Heat wave of 36* for Sunday. Just cleaned my stove after three weeks non-stop running with no weekly cleaning just 1 pot scrape a day and it is heating much better now. It was over due. I was messing around to see what it would do and boy what a difference with it clean!

I noticed it was slower to respond so I figured the ESP was dirty. The whole inside of everything was caked up with ash and now my IR gun is reading much higher temps. So cleaning really matters a bunch. Hope Y'all stay warm thru this crap. I feel for Y'all up north. We have seen -20 or so here before without wind chill but negative anything is seldom.

This is just the beginning......

I don't recall tonight's temps being much worse than the "weeks at a time" we had last year. Am I jut old and remembering wrong? But this is the crap I live for!
