Colder now than it was in November, Re-lighting the boiler

The forecast has the nights for the next week in the 32-35 range with days getting all the way up to 50. I hate to hear the oil dragon roar so the boiler is coming back on tonight and probably for the next week.

We're still burning. Yes it was mild but it's still cold enough to need heat. Our burn season is usually September to May.

My stove was down for 3 days but the house hit 55° same as outside 55°. We have the same 30's at night.
I dont usually mind but combined with damp chill of rainy weather and gray skies, stove is running. I think this weather is where the creosote comes from.
The little poplar fires to take the chill off.

My stove has been down for about a month, I too am thinking about firing it back up for the next couple of days here in CT. Highs barely making it out of the 40's and low 30's at night with this damp rain makes everything feel colder.

I have been letting the boiler fire die down on warmer days, it has yet to go out. Today's high was 35 here on the farm, even had a bit of snow to go with it; lest we forget.

Mine has been down for over a month as well. Fired it back up last night and going strong.

Still burning every day here, no end in sight to that yet in the forecast. Almost made it to the skip-a-day point last week, so close but now so far again...
