This is really intense. Some towns are completely cut off with no water or power. I hope all our friends in CO are ok and that the rains stop soon.

Yikes, in several locations they have gotten a year's worth of rain, 10-14" in just 4 hours! 4 major highways and 2 dams have been breached so far.

Unreal. Thoughts and prayers to those affected.

Well so far so good for us but then we are on much higher ground. I must say that I have a new respect for the power of water. This has been an amazing event to watch.

Yep, been pretty damp around here.
Yesterday everyone bailed out work early to head to the Kayak park on Clear Creek. Water levels were up over 3X normal. My creek is at mid-snow melt levels.
Lots of grief in the Boulder area, gonna take a while to clean this mess up.

Just finally confirmed my cousins out there are all ok. Most of them live near The University of Colorado - Boulder but one lives in Ft Collins. Scary day waiting to find them. No power, some damage but everyone is ok.

Living along a river myself I can feel for these folks. What is usually only 4ft deep around here can turn into raging waters in a few hours. In the 2007 floods, I will never forget the sound of houses that had washed off their foundations bang down the river...horrific sound.

Hope everyone else out there is ok too!!

gmule and Beetle-Kill, good to hear all is ok.

Cousin & hubby live in Golden. I sent a text query ~5 hours ago, haven't heard back yet. Maybe she lost her phone.

Golden is a bit south of the worst flooding, but filled with canyons and streams. Hope they are ok.

There have been some issues with phone service due to this event. I live about 23 miles to the southwest of Golden and to the best of my knowledge Golden has not had any major issues with flooding like Boulder has experienced. Most of the major flooding is much farther north of Golden.

Golden is a pretty area. I stayed at a friend's place there on my first cross country trip.

Yeah, they're fine. I figured they probably were because they live pretty high up, and as you say the worst of this is up around Boulder. She said they were glad to see a little blue sky yesterday.
