Condition of this wood - how is it?

Picked up some free wood. Realized after splitting for awhile that the dark spots are bugs/insects damage.

I'm splitting and will be stacking it. Plan isto use indoors after seasoning. What is your take on the condition? Will it get significantly worse? Will take extra care in moving inside to burn, too.

Looks a little punky but definitely “burnable”.
 
Looks like some Red Maple(?) to me, with almost no BTU loss. I, too, have burned worse, due to my indolence. 😏
 
Probably passed its prime for producing heat but still good. Once split and stacked, further decay should stop or at least slow down.
