New to the forum! I have learned so much here, so let me start off by saying thank you!
Just purchased a Hearthstone Manchester for install in an existing masonry fireplace. The flue collar will need to be cut out to pass the 6" liner, etc and the roof is 25' so I am having the pros do that. Here's the question: When all is said and done I'd like to have the heater come out as far as possible into the room (still leaving the 16" clearance at the front), but I don't really want to look at the SS Liner inside the fireplace behind the stove. Is it okay to connect chimney pipe (via the rear exhaust on the stove) to the SS liner so that within the fireplace I see stovepipe and not the liner?
Ideally, I would paint the stovepipe to match the brown enamel of the stove and that would go up to the block-off plate where the flue collar used to be. At the block-off plate would be the vertical termination of the SS liner where I could connect the stovepipe. Clear as mud?
Any help would be appreciated.
