Question:

WE are renovating a cottage and would like to convert our existing Franklin stove with a ventless or power vented gas log. We would like to be chimney free. Could you offer any suggestions that may help us. We heat and cook with propane gas. Our cottage is approx 18x30- with a main floor and second floor being added.

Answer:

If you want use something for heat- and you want it to be chimney free--you'll have to purchase one of the new Vent-Free stoves--complete with installed gas log...it's not safe/legal to convert your existing stove.
