Howdy ya'll, I live in an unincorporated part of Maricopa County AZ and just secured myself a permit to install the Englander 13-NCH that I'm ordering from Home Depot. The stove is going aside our north wall in a part of the home that used to be under the back patio. So the roof pitch is more flat than steep and if I had to guess, I'd bet insulation was stuffed between the rafters and drywall was slapped in place so there is probably virtually no attic space.

I need help selecting the pipes and ceiling thimble. Here is what I'm considering so far, please share your thoughts.

Get double wall insulated stuff instead of the triple wall. It is smaller outside diameter and keeps the internal temps up much better because it has twice the insulation.

so if I understand, the ceiling kit will pass through both the roof and finished ceiling? I would bend it outward on the roof and put the flashing on top of it? so the components I've identified are good except on the exterior of the house I should go double-wall insulated?

I cant seem to find an exterior double-wall insulated chimney pipe through Home Depot. Is it easy enough to use SuperVent chimney pipe from Lowe's with the DuraVent stove pipe from Home Depot?

I don’t think they’re compatible and if you already have the Simpson Duravent ceiling box. Tractor Supply has the triple wall chimney pipe from Simpson Duravent. If you are after a double wall chimney pipe you might find the internet to be your best bet.

it's all here! luckily no damage to the stove, and only 1 of the single wall stove pipes was bent which I promptly returned. Before I open the ceiling kit, I would mention the roof above this install is an enclosed patio and the pitch is much more gradual than the "normal" roof. I wonder if the angle of the flashing is too steep for the install location.

The angle of the flashing is not too extreme and I think it will work out just fine. I'm very thankful the kit had the stove collar adapter as I didn't know that at first and thought I would have to order it separate after trying to fit a section of stove pipe to the collar direct. I think all should install smooth but my joists are 24' apart so I'll need to frame 3 of the 4 sides for the support box, luckily again the pallet wood should work out for that.

Did you download the DuraPlus installation manual?

Yes, those instructions are for chimney pipe only which one does not cut. It's often easier to use a telescoping section of stove pipe to avoid having to cut this.
