I have a pre fab metal fireplace installed in my home with 10” double wall galvanized flu going up 1 story. Over the last 15 years I have burned about 10 cords of seasoned hardwood. Each year I examine the flue from top and bottom and there doesn’t appear to be any buildup of creosol. Is the reason for lack of creosol the metal flu ? I do burn it hot on occasion, could that be burning the creosol off ? The only buildup I see is a dusty thin coat of ash.
