What are some tips and suggestions to reduce cresote build up from start up of your stove and to the next refill of your stove.

Yes, I know dry wood!!!!!!!!

Stove temp?????

Ideally you'd like to see a minimum stove temp of 350 or so. 500-600 is ideal during the cold months though.

Burning the stove hotter when the wood is first put in - this is when the temp of the firebox and stack is usually greatly lowered.....to burn off the moisture in the wood...and then ignite the gases. If a stove has to be turned down low, it is always best done during the later stages of the fire - the charcoal stages.
