Edited to add that the main issue with needing to sandwich it is that otherwise it just falls right through the holes of the burn pot
Hi all, wondering if anyone uses creosote remover in powder form in pellet stoves?
I’ve been using it for a few years and have a half full container currently, but I’ve always been unsure on how to use it in a pellet stove properly.
I used to put some on top after the fire was burning low, but this was difficult to do without burning it out.
I’ve read online to fold it up in a piece of paper but seems wrong to me to put paper in the pellet stove , even if just one sheet every couple days.
I’ve gone back to sandwiching it between two small layers of pellets before lighting, but this uses more pellets at the start than id like and ends up burning it in a big fire (powder says to burn on a low one).
Any thoughts or advice (outside of getting the creosote remover pellets which aren’t easily available in my area).
For reference I have an enviro ef2
Thanks!
