I think it should be toward stove- Buddy says his is away-

Opinions?

Thanks.

Bob

If it were woodworking and you were making a dust collection run....then the crimped end would be away from the source in order to create a smoother flow of air.

Toward on woodstove away on hot water heater.

It has to do with not wanting creosote to drip down the outside of your stovepipe. On my stove, the ring the pipe connects to is wide enough that it's impossible to put it on any other way.
