Respectively disagree. I have burned about a ton of them this year and the heat I am getting out of them is great with low ash. Every stove is different, every set up is different and every house is different. During the recent cold snap I was keeping the house above 70 burning the Cubex. Are there less expensive pellets that put out as much heat, if so I would like to know what they are?

X2
Consistently good they are priced the same as most other around here and produce more heat per pound

I burned Northern last year and loved them. The price keeps going up on them though. I've got a list of go-to pellets and they are on it.

The LaCretes are GREAT!

I had no good results in the beginning of the season. I suspect a faulty exhaust fan on my Harman stove. Awaiting for my new one. Will see if it helps any.

295 a ton here. They clog up my burn pot in 2 different stoves. Laureates for the same money blow them away. Somersets for 219 a ton blow them away and Presto Logs for 219 are very good.

i hear great things about somersets but they are 289 in my area, where in CT are u getting them for 219?

This is my second season burning cubex.. big angry bear on my bag.. and they have been fine, but they might not be the best for my stove. My Mini has gone out on a few occasions while it has been simmering on low. I believe it is due to the inconsistent pellet length of the cubex. I have run some FSU through with out issue. Due to the price difference and pretty good consistency from year to year.. I might just order some FSU's by the ton from HD and be done with it. My stove is over sized for the area so I can live with a "shoulder" pellet throughout winter.

On a side note, I did notice some small amount of metal in the bottom of my burn pot. Seems soft.. maybe aluminium. Did not notice it with the FSU's.. not sure if it is in the Cubex pellets or if the harder pellet does not agree with my auger. Not too concerned because it is such a small amount... most probably would not notice it. I will keep an eye on it and update as necessary.

Got them at Lowes. Bought all they had and they say they can't get any more. Tried the Presto Logs and have been happy with them. Got those at Home Cheapo

Ok maybe I was too harsh. Been burning them for a while now and they are better than I first thought. Sorry Cubex.

I am burning them and agree with LMPS on the heat and ash, (nice pellet)
I have had to set my stove to the lowest setting ever so we would not get cooked out of the house.
Maybe some issues early last year last year but they have corrected it.
I know as I was in contact with them direct as to what their pellets were doing and they were 100% professional and on top of it to resolve.
Search Green flame cubex etc maybe you will find something.
Low ash High Heat very few fines and wish I got more that one ton...
I am not partial to any particular pellet but this years Cubex is worth it and I would purchase them again 100%

I went thru 1.5 ton so far, the ones with the red flag on it and bought last year
and my impression was that they were not good as usual.
Did talk to the RONA dealer about it and after checking with a few folks
he confirmed that others found the same thing.

And everyone is saying that this year GREEN bag are much better.

I bought a few bags of this year GREEN flag that says 0.3% ash and starting
to use them tonight and will see how it goes..

Cheers

Yes "Love the heat" I agree Green Is better and that is what I have this year. thanks.

I have tried a half dozen bags of Cubes in two different seasons and was disappointed both years. Overpriced and over-rated, at least in my experience with my stove in my set up. FSU far superior, this season and last. Just sayin.
