Ive been toying with the idea off buliding a wood splitter. Everrything seems to be easily found used cheap or free except for a cylinder. Anyone know a good place to get a cylinder besides northern tool. thanx

Pull out the phone book and look up "hydraulics." Find a hydraulics shop that has an address in the bad part of town-the kind of place where big biker type dudes with full sleeve tattoos service garbage trucks and construction equipment all day. Tell them what you're looking for and they probably have something used laying around the shop somewhere for a reasonable price. If you can't find a place call the local carting company or heavy construction outfit and ask who services their stuff.
