This might be a stupid question but how does the thermostat on the delonghi radiant heaters work? The directions are pretty vague, the one that we have downstairs we just turn off and on when we need heat or not. How do you set it to maintain a constant room temp?

Ours has a dial with numbers 1 through 5 (5 being the hottest) which controls the temperature nicely. However, it is now under plastic stored away in the garage as we won't need it until we move (if we move).
