Just out of curiosity does anyone know why creosote forms with a different look sometimes. Sometimes it is the dry and flaky stuff with a very matte look to it and other times it is a hard, dark black and shiny looking substance. This is the one that is difficult to remove. I am lucky that the little that I get is always the flaky stuff that is easy to clean off. Just wondering what causes the hard shiny type and also how would one remove it if you did get that type?
