I currently have a cistern and shallow hand-dug well plumbed to an old Meyer 1/3 HP jet pump/bladderless pressure tank. The pump is on it's way out. I have been considering a Grundfos MQ3-35 (3/4 HP) or MQ3-45 (1 HP) pump to replace this setup. Does anyone use one of these pumps as a shallow well pump? How does it perform for you? With my on-demand water heater, I had to jack the pressure up on the current set up to 70 psi - the pump runs continuously when showering (otherwise, you don't get hot water). I thought one of these pumps might do the trick...
