I'm installing a Lopi Answer in my music studio. There is a 14" square chimney box that currently has Tristack 6W triple wall pipe but not high enough, only 6 feet. it is this...

My question is should I just add on to this pipe to get 20' or I can get this Supervent double wall for about the same price and replace the whole chimney.

Is there any real advantage to triple wall vs double wall in insulation? Basically, is one of these better than the other?
I'm up at 8500 feet in the rockies so trying to make a good decision...

You'd have to replace the entire box, flashing, cap - everything!

In a general sense - that is, in the way you intend to use it, I don't see a major difference between the two types of pipe. Most folks use packed (insulated) these days partially because it tends to fit up between the rafters and joists easier.

I prefer insulated double wall class a pipe. It does fit in most houses a lot easier and it's just a lot easier to use.
One issue with the air cooled pipe is bees and spiders are able to get into the air channel and build nests. I see this all the time, it may never be a fire hazard, but it sure is dirty.
