Hi Folks, I have a 1992 Dovre Sunburst 2208 zero clearance woodburning fireplace. I bought it new and had professional installation done. The question relates to the inside of the stove floor (hearth). It is not individual firebricks but rather a preformed mortar slab. It is showing its age with crumbling mortar where I can see some of the steel reinforcement. The manufacture does not have a new cast available. So, I tried using the refractory cement at the big box stores but only lasts a year. I think my 3 options are a professional refractory cement grade or a fireplace mortar. And I see that they make thinner individual firebricks which I could lay on top of the existing concrete hearth. What are your thoughts Folks and Thanks
