what is a drip cut on a chimney crown ? I read one of the thread here and they mentioned it . Thanks

If you are referring to a metal crown, it's a kick out like a drip edge so the water drops away and doesn't run down the face of your chimney.

Of on a masonry crown it is a groove cut into the bottom edge of the slab so the water drips off instead of being pulled around by surface tension
