Hello All,

I signed up for an account last year while doing research, but this is my first post. Just purchased and installed a Drolet Deco Nano in my three season room. About 6 ft of double stove pipe connected to 12 feet of class a chimney pipe for a total of approximately 18ft. Plan is to use mostly on the weekend to keep the 3 season room more useable during the winter. I’ve had 2 fires so far trying to cure the paint. First fire was about 375-425 stove top and second fire 650-700 stove top temp. First fire I could definitely smell the paint. Second fire, similar smell, but also a Smokey haze in the room. Is this normal for the paint curing process? Draft seemed good once fire was going so I don’t think it was smoke from the fire itself.

Yes, that's normal.
Open the windows when you do it to air out the (noxious) gases from the paint.
It'll smell each time you hit a higher temperature.

Each time will get better. After another 2 or so hot fires the bake-in process of the paint should be all done.
