My Great Aunt has an oil burning stove as her main source of heat. All of a sudden it's not heating - i.e., there is flame but the stove is not warm or producing much heat; she's getting black smoke; and a lot of soot.
I clean it before we relight it every year. I think it's not getting air - does anyone know where the vents for air getting into the pot belly are? I've never felt any or seen them when I'm cleaning it or is it maybe something else.
She doesn't have a fan or thermostat attached to it or the carburetor.
It's a Duo Therm Imperial Model 779-1 if that helps.
Thank you.
