yep, still burning. In the barn to keep proper fermentation temperatures (hard cider) and in the house every day or two. Went skiing on Friday but that’s over after this weekend too.

Happy Easter!

Did the Easter Burny deliver the jelly beans? No fire here with temps in the 60s. Where did the juice come from? Do you purchase the apple cider for fermenting or did you press in fall and freeze?

Easter burny is right. After several batches of cider using exotic juices from orchards, I’ve settled on Kirkland (Costco), not from concentrate, USA apple juice. Heat pasteurized. I use Nottingham ale yeast and about 2# of brown sugar to get the abv up near 7-8%. The final flavor and sweetness level comes at the end.

We skied on friday, and on sunday. Had 30 people over for a passover seder on saturday (with lots of brisket). it was 78 degrees sat, and tonight we will have a fire again as it is going to snow.

We will have a couple more weeks of decent skiing out here... we will see :)

That's exactly how I remember the weather in Golden when I visited years ago.

Probably had my last fire of the season overnight. It dipped to 37 last night but is heading back to 70 today. Time to cut wood for the 2021/2022 season :)
