Ok, more info please, i see a torched shop vac filter sitting on the fender of a riding lawn mower….? Maybe thats the mower’s air filter…..🤷♂️
For about 20 years I cleaned my "cold" chimney with a vacuum cleaner and rags.
I never had to use a brush until this year. I ended up having to blow some of the creosote and ash towards the stove instead of sucking it out. Inside the stove I saw a small ember or two (when I thought the stove was clean and cold) and did not think it would hurt anything to vacuum it with the ash powder and creosote since I was going empty the vac afterwards and then clean or change the filter.
Flames started to shoot out of the vacuum exhaust like a sparkler, thankfully the rug did not catch on fire and the back door was open right behind it. I pushed the wet/dry vac outside, opened the top as quick as possible, pulled the filter off and tossed it off the back deck. Then I went down and drowned the smouldering filter in rain water.
